1. About These Terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of the Cambridge Tyre & Alignment website, online booking services, quote request forms and related online services.

By accessing or using this website, submitting an enquiry, requesting a quote or making an online booking, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, service-specific disclaimers and any written quote, invoice or job card issued by Cambridge Tyre & Alignment.

2. Website Information

We take reasonable care to ensure that information on this website is accurate and current. However, information, pricing, product availability, specifications, images, promotions and service details may change without notice.

Website content is provided as general information only. It should not be relied on as a substitute for a vehicle inspection, professional advice or a written quotation.

Tyre sizes, fitments, load ratings, speed ratings and vehicle suitability should always be confirmed before purchase or fitting. If you are unsure, please contact us before placing an order or booking a service.

3. Quotes, Pricing and Availability

Unless stated otherwise:

  • All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST.

  • Prices may change without notice.

  • Quotes are estimates based on the information available at the time and may be subject to change if additional work, parts, repairs or services are required.

  • Tyre, wheel and parts availability is subject to supplier stock and may change without notice.

  • A quote does not guarantee product availability, delivery time or final pricing until accepted and confirmed by Cambridge Tyre & Alignment.

  • Promotional pricing applies only for the stated promotional period, selected products and any stated conditions.

  • Promotions cannot be used in conjunction with other offers unless expressly stated.

If an error is identified in pricing, product information or availability, we may correct the error and contact you before proceeding.

4. Online Bookings and Enquiries

Online bookings are requests for an appointment and are not confirmed until accepted by Cambridge Tyre & Alignment.

We may contact you to confirm vehicle details, tyre size, service requirements, pricing, availability or appointment timing before completing the booking.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate vehicle and contact information. Incorrect information may affect the suitability of products, pricing, appointment availability or the work that can be completed.

If you need to change or cancel a booking, please contact us as soon as possible. We may charge a reasonable fee for missed appointments, late cancellations, special-order products or work already completed.

5. Vehicle Condition and Additional Work

Vehicle servicing may identify issues that were not apparent before work began, including worn, damaged, seized or unsafe components.

Where practical, we will contact you before carrying out additional chargeable work. However, if we identify an immediate safety issue, we may pause or decline work until the issue is addressed.

We reserve the right to refuse or stop work where we reasonably believe it would be unsafe, unlawful or unsuitable to proceed.

6. Tyres, Wheels and Fitment

Tyres, wheels and related products must be suitable for the vehicle and its intended use.

Customers are responsible for advising us of relevant vehicle modifications, including lowered or lifted suspension, aftermarket wheels, non-standard tyre sizes, brake upgrades, wheel spacers, suspension modifications or motorsport use.

Where a customer requests a non-standard fitment, they are responsible for ensuring it is suitable, legal and compliant with applicable New Zealand requirements. We may decline to fit products that we reasonably consider unsafe, incompatible or unsuitable.

Tyre and wheel fitment may affect vehicle handling, clearance, speedometer accuracy, fuel use, tyre wear, warranty coverage and legal compliance.

7. Customer-Supplied Parts

We may agree to fit tyres, wheels or other parts supplied by a customer. Customer-supplied parts are fitted at the customer's request.

We do not warrant the quality, condition, authenticity, compatibility, suitability or performance of customer-supplied parts. Any manufacturer or supplier warranty remains with the original retailer or supplier.

Our responsibility is limited to the quality of the installation service we perform. Additional labour charges may apply if customer-supplied parts are incorrect, defective, damaged, incompatible or require removal, refitting or replacement.

We reserve the right to refuse to fit any part we reasonably consider unsafe or unsuitable.

8. Tyre Repairs

Tyre repairs are only carried out where the tyre is assessed as safe and repairable in accordance with recognised industry practices.

Not all punctures can be repaired. Tyres with sidewall or shoulder damage, exposed cords, structural damage, excessive wear, unsuitable previous repairs or other safety concerns may require replacement.

A tyre repair addresses the specific damage identified and does not guarantee against future punctures, failures or unrelated tyre damage.

9. Wheel Alignments and Tyre Wear

A wheel alignment adjusts available steering and suspension geometry. It does not repair worn, bent, seized or damaged suspension or steering components.

Some vehicles, particularly modified, lowered, lifted, accident-damaged or non-standard vehicles, may not be capable of being adjusted to manufacturer specifications without additional repairs or aftermarket components.

Wheel alignment cannot reverse existing tyre wear or guarantee that all steering pull, vibration, tyre noise, handling concerns or uneven tyre wear will be eliminated.

Tyre wear is affected by factors including tyre pressures, wheel alignment, suspension condition, driving style, vehicle loading, road conditions, wheel balancing and regular maintenance. Unless a separate written mileage warranty applies, we do not guarantee a specific tyre life or mileage outcome.

10. Wheels, TPMS and Locking Wheel Nuts

We use reasonable care and appropriate procedures when removing and fitting tyres and wheels. Some wheels may have hidden defects, corrosion, previous repairs, deterioration or existing damage that may only become apparent during tyre removal or fitting.

We are not responsible for damage caused by pre-existing corrosion, hidden defects, previous repairs, manufacturing defects or deterioration occurring during normal tyre fitting procedures.

TPMS sensors and valve components may fail due to age, battery depletion, corrosion, previous damage or normal wear. Some vehicles require TPMS reset, relearn or programming after tyre or wheel work. Additional charges may apply where replacement parts, programming or diagnostic work is required.

Customers must provide the correct locking wheel nut key where fitted. Missing, incorrect, seized or damaged locking wheel nuts may require specialist removal, additional labour, replacement parts or may prevent work from being completed.

11. Lowered and Modified Vehicles

Lowered, lifted and modified vehicles may have limited adjustment range and may require custom alignment settings, aftermarket adjustment components or additional repairs.

Where a customer requests non-standard or performance alignment settings, they acknowledge that these settings may affect tyre wear, handling, ride quality and vehicle behaviour.

We do not guarantee that modified vehicles can be aligned to original manufacturer specifications or that all tyre wear or handling concerns will be eliminated.

12. Payment

Payment is due on completion of work unless we agree otherwise in writing.

We may require a deposit or full payment in advance for special-order tyres, wheels, parts or other products.

Title to goods supplied by Cambridge Tyre & Alignment remains with us until payment has been received in full.

If payment is overdue, we may recover reasonable costs incurred in collecting the debt, including debt collection and legal costs where permitted by law.

13. Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986 or any other applicable New Zealand law.

Where goods or services are acquired for business purposes, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 may not apply to the extent permitted by law.
