Cambridge Tyre & Alignment
Tyre Repair Disclaimer
At Cambridge Tyre & Alignment, your safety is our priority. Every puncture repair is carefully inspected and carried out in accordance with recognised New Zealand tyre industry practices. However, not all punctures can be safely repaired.
Please note the following:
All tyres are inspected before any repair is attempted.
Repairs will only be completed where the damage is within an approved repairable area and the tyre is otherwise considered safe for continued use.
Tyres with sidewall damage, shoulder damage, excessive wear, exposed cords, structural damage, previous unsuitable repairs, or other safety concerns cannot be repaired and will require replacement.
Some internal damage may not be visible until the tyre has been removed from the wheel. If additional damage is discovered, we will contact you before proceeding where practical.
A repaired tyre is intended to restore the tyre to a safe, serviceable condition but does not make it immune from future punctures, damage, or failure.
Cambridge Tyre & Alignment cannot guarantee the future life or performance of a repaired tyre, as this depends on factors including road conditions, impact damage, inflation pressure, vehicle maintenance, loading, and driving style.
The repair applies only to the specific puncture repaired and does not extend to unrelated damage or future tyre failures.
If we determine that a tyre cannot be safely repaired, we will recommend replacement in the interest of your safety.
By authorising the repair, you acknowledge that you understand the limitations of tyre repairs and authorise Cambridge Tyre & Alignment to carry out the repair only where the tyre meets accepted safety standards.
Wheel Alignment Disclaimer
At Cambridge Tyre & Alignment, we use modern wheel alignment equipment and manufacturer specifications (or suitable aftermarket specifications where applicable) to optimise your vehicle's steering, handling and tyre wear.
Please note the following:
A wheel alignment adjusts the vehicle's steering and suspension geometry only. It does not repair worn, bent, seized or damaged steering or suspension components.
If worn, damaged or modified components are identified during the alignment process, we may recommend repairs before a full or accurate alignment can be achieved.
Some vehicles, particularly those that are lowered, modified, involved in previous accidents, or fitted with aftermarket suspension components, may not be capable of being adjusted to manufacturer specifications without additional parts or repairs.
On many modern vehicles, some alignment angles are not factory adjustable. Correction of these angles may require aftermarket adjustment kits or replacement components.
We will adjust all available alignment settings within the vehicle's design and condition. Where adjustment is limited, unavailable or not possible, this will be noted on the alignment report where practical.
A wheel alignment cannot correct existing tyre wear, tyre noise, vibration, wheel imbalance, damaged tyres, bent wheels, steering pull caused by tyre construction, brake issues, road camber or other mechanical faults.
A vehicle may continue to pull slightly due to road conditions, tyre characteristics, previous accident damage, uneven tyre wear or other factors beyond the scope of a wheel alignment.
For the best results, tyres should be correctly inflated and in good condition. Excessively worn, damaged or mismatched tyres may affect the outcome of the alignment.
Where safe to do so, a road test may be carried out before and/or after the alignment to confirm steering performance. Minor steering wheel position adjustments may occasionally be required following the initial alignment.
Cambridge Tyre & Alignment is not responsible for tyre wear or handling issues resulting from existing mechanical defects, incorrect tyre pressures, failure to carry out recommended repairs, impact damage after the alignment, or changes to the vehicle's suspension or ride height after the service.
Our goal is to provide the best possible alignment based on your vehicle's current condition. If additional work is required to achieve manufacturer specifications or resolve handling concerns, our team will discuss the available options with you.
Customer-Supplied Parts Disclaimer
Customer-Supplied Parts Disclaimer
Cambridge Tyre & Alignment is happy to fit tyres, wheels and other parts supplied by customers. While we take every care during installation, we are unable to verify the quality, condition, authenticity or suitability of parts not supplied by us.
Please note the following:
Customer-supplied parts are fitted at the customer's request.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that all supplied parts are correct for their vehicle, including size, specifications, load and speed ratings, offsets, stud patterns, and manufacturer requirements.
We reserve the right to refuse to fit any part that we consider unsafe, damaged, excessively worn, incompatible, incorrectly specified, or otherwise unsuitable.
Where practical, we may advise if a supplied part appears unsuitable; however, the final responsibility for the suitability of customer-supplied parts remains with the customer.
Cambridge Tyre & Alignment does not provide a warranty on customer-supplied parts or any manufacturing defects, premature failures, or performance issues associated with those parts.
Any manufacturer's warranty or supplier warranty remains the responsibility of the original retailer or supplier from whom the parts were purchased.
Our workmanship warranty applies only to the fitting service performed by Cambridge Tyre & Alignment and does not extend to the supplied parts themselves.
If a supplied part is found to be defective, incorrect or unsuitable during installation, additional labour charges may apply for inspection, removal, refitting or replacement.
We are not responsible for delays, additional costs or consequential losses resulting from incorrect, defective or incompatible customer-supplied parts.
Where customer-supplied tyres or wheels have been previously fitted, stored or transported, Cambridge Tyre & Alignment cannot accept responsibility for pre-existing damage, deterioration or defects that become apparent during installation.
Our priority is the safe operation of your vehicle. If we believe a customer-supplied part cannot be safely fitted or used, we will discuss the available options with you before any work proceeds.
Wheel Damage Disclaimer
At Cambridge Tyre & Alignment, we use modern tyre fitting equipment and industry-approved procedures to minimise the risk of damage during tyre removal and installation. While every reasonable care is taken, some wheels may have pre-existing damage, corrosion or deterioration that increases the risk of damage during normal tyre fitting procedures.
Please note the following:
Wheels are inspected before fitting where practical; however, some defects or previous repairs may not be visible until the tyre has been removed.
Older, heavily corroded, previously repaired, bent or damaged wheels may be more susceptible to cosmetic or structural damage during tyre removal or installation.
Painted, polished, machined, chrome-plated and custom-finished alloy wheels may be more prone to marking or finish deterioration due to age, corrosion or previous repairs.
Corrosion between the tyre bead and wheel rim may cause paint, coatings or surface finishes to lift or flake during normal removal of the tyre.
Existing cracks, corrosion, buckles, weld repairs or other structural defects may become apparent only after the tyre has been removed and the wheel fully inspected.
If a wheel is found to be unsafe or unsuitable for continued use, we will advise you and recommend repair or replacement before proceeding where practical.
Cambridge Tyre & Alignment is not responsible for damage resulting from pre-existing corrosion, hidden defects, previous repairs, manufacturing defects or deterioration that occurs during the normal removal or installation of a tyre.
Where a wheel's condition presents an unreasonable risk of damage or failure during the fitting process, we reserve the right to decline the work in the interest of safety.
Our priority is to complete all work safely while protecting your wheels wherever reasonably possible. If we identify any concerns regarding the condition of your wheels, we will discuss the available options with you before proceeding where practical.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Disclaimer
Many modern vehicles are equipped with a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which uses electronic sensors fitted inside the wheels to monitor tyre pressures.
At Cambridge Tyre & Alignment, we use appropriate equipment and procedures when servicing wheels fitted with TPMS sensors. While every reasonable care is taken, TPMS components are delicate and may be affected by age, corrosion or previous damage.
Please note the following:
TPMS sensors, valve stems, valve cores and sealing components are subject to normal wear and deterioration over time.
Original TPMS sensor batteries are sealed, non-serviceable and have a limited service life. Battery failure may occur independently of any tyre service.
During tyre removal or installation, aged, corroded or previously damaged TPMS components may fail or require replacement as part of normal servicing.
If a TPMS sensor, valve or associated component is found to be damaged, leaking or unserviceable, we will advise you and recommend replacement where practical.
TPMS warning lights may remain illuminated if a sensor has failed, requires relearning or programming, or if another fault exists within the vehicle's TPMS.
Some vehicles require a TPMS relearn, reset or programming procedure following tyre replacement, wheel rotation or wheel changes. Where this is required, additional charges may apply unless otherwise included in the quoted service.
Cambridge Tyre & Alignment is not responsible for the failure of TPMS sensors or related components due to age, battery depletion, corrosion, previous damage, manufacturing defects or normal wear and tear.
Replacement TPMS sensors, service kits, programming or diagnostic work may incur additional costs if required.
Our priority is to ensure your TPMS operates correctly and your vehicle remains safe. If we identify any TPMS concerns during servicing, we will discuss the available repair or replacement options with you before proceeding where practical.
Tyre Wear Disclaimer
Tyre life and wear patterns are influenced by many factors, many of which are outside the control of Cambridge Tyre & Alignment. While we are committed to providing quality products and professional workmanship, we cannot guarantee the lifespan or wear rate of any tyre.
Please note the following:
Tyre wear is affected by wheel alignment, suspension and steering condition, tyre pressures, wheel balancing, vehicle loading, driving style, road conditions and regular vehicle maintenance.
Incorrect tyre pressures, worn or damaged suspension or steering components, poor wheel alignment and lack of regular tyre rotations can significantly reduce tyre life and cause uneven wear.
Existing uneven tyre wear cannot be reversed by wheel alignment, balancing or tyre rotation. These services are intended to help prevent further abnormal wear where possible.
Vehicles that are lowered, modified, used for towing, regularly carry heavy loads or operate on rough or unsealed roads may experience increased or uneven tyre wear.
High-performance, off-road and commercial tyres may wear differently depending on their intended use and operating conditions.
Regular tyre pressure checks, wheel alignments and tyre rotations are recommended to maximise tyre life and maintain safe vehicle handling.
Cambridge Tyre & Alignment cannot guarantee that tyres will achieve a specific mileage or service life unless covered by a separate written mileage warranty.
We are not responsible for premature or uneven tyre wear resulting from vehicle condition, lack of maintenance, incorrect tyre pressures, impact damage, driving habits, road hazards or other factors beyond our reasonable control.
Our team will advise you of any tyre wear concerns or vehicle-related issues identified during inspection where practical. Following our maintenance recommendations will help maximise tyre performance, safety and service life.
Locking Wheel Nut Disclaimer
Many vehicles are fitted with locking wheel nuts or bolts to help deter wheel theft. These require a matching locking wheel nut key for safe removal and installation.
At Cambridge Tyre & Alignment, we will take every reasonable care when removing and reinstalling locking wheel nuts. However, the condition of the locking wheel nut and key can affect the removal process.
Please note the following:
It is the customer's responsibility to provide the correct locking wheel nut key before any work requiring wheel removal is carried out.
If the locking wheel nut key is missing, incorrect or damaged, we may be unable to complete the requested work until a suitable key is obtained.
Locking wheel nuts that are seized, overtightened, worn, damaged, corroded or previously rounded may require specialist removal techniques.
Where specialist removal is required, additional labour charges and replacement parts may apply. We will discuss these with you before proceeding where practical.
While every reasonable care is taken, the removal of damaged or seized locking wheel nuts may result in the locking wheel nut becoming unusable and requiring replacement.
In some cases, specialist removal methods may result in minor cosmetic marking to the locking wheel nut or wheel surrounding the locking wheel nut recess. Every effort will be made to minimise this risk.
Cambridge Tyre & Alignment is not responsible for delays or additional costs resulting from missing, incorrect or damaged locking wheel nut keys, or from locking wheel nuts that have become seized, damaged or overtightened prior to our work.
If a locking wheel nut cannot be safely removed, we reserve the right to decline or postpone the requested work until the issue has been resolved.
Our priority is to complete your service safely while protecting your vehicle. If we encounter any issues with your locking wheel nuts or key, we will discuss the available options with you before proceeding where practical.
Lowered & Modified Vehicle Disclaimer
Cambridge Tyre & Alignment is experienced in servicing lowered, lifted and modified vehicles. We will always aim to achieve the best possible outcome based on your vehicle's current configuration and the adjustment available.
Please note the following:
Modifications to a vehicle's suspension, steering, wheels or tyres may affect wheel alignment, handling, tyre wear and ride quality.
Lowered or lifted vehicles, aftermarket suspension components, adjustable suspension systems and non-standard wheel or tyre combinations may prevent alignment settings from being adjusted to original manufacturer specifications.
Some modified vehicles require aftermarket adjustment kits, replacement components or custom suspension settings to achieve the desired alignment results.
Increased or uneven tyre wear is common on some modified vehicles, particularly those with increased negative camber, altered suspension geometry or aggressive performance alignment settings.
Where a customer requests alignment settings that differ from the manufacturer's specifications, any resulting changes in handling characteristics or tyre wear remain the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
Modified vehicles may experience steering pull, tramlining, tyre noise or reduced tyre life due to their design or modifications, even where the alignment is within acceptable specifications.
Cambridge Tyre & Alignment cannot guarantee that a modified vehicle can be aligned to manufacturer specifications or that tyre wear or handling concerns will be completely eliminated.
Modifications that do not comply with manufacturer requirements or applicable legal standards may limit the services we are able to provide. We reserve the right to refuse work where we believe a vehicle or modification presents a safety concern.
Our workmanship warranty applies only to the services performed by Cambridge Tyre & Alignment and does not extend to the performance, design or suitability of aftermarket components or vehicle modifications.
Our priority is to provide the safest and most effective alignment possible based on your vehicle's current condition and modifications. If we identify any limitations or recommend additional components or repairs, we will discuss these with you before proceeding where practical.
